    Rising Senior Wideout Romel Stevens

By Platform Scout: Marc Henry @marchen

Romel Stevens is a rising senior prospect who has been one of the top performers on the DR7 circuit at both stops in Texas, demonstrating his skills and potential that makes him an attractive prospect to college recruiters. Despite initially flying under the radar while playing for a talented Willis team last fall, Stevens has begun to attract well-deserved attention with his standout performances. Standing tall at 6’6 and weighing in at 208 pounds, he possesses a physically imposing stature with a lean frame, making him a formidable presence on the field. His large catch radius and impressive wingspan allows him to snag passes with ease, while his long strides and notable speed make him a constant threat downfield. Stevens’ exceptional hand size, which seems to engulf the football, coupled with his basketball background, contributes to his outstanding short-area footwork and body control, enabling him to outmaneuver defenders and excel in contested catch situations. Particularly lethal in the red zone, Stevens is a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses, often using his size and strength to overpower defenders and secure touchdowns. His performances at both Texas stops on the DR7 tournament circuit have proven that he is one the top pass catchers in his class. This offseason he has picked up offers from notable college programs, such as Colorado, Arkansas State, and Nebraska, indicating his potential to succeed at the next level. Stevens’ commitment to refining his skills, particularly in route running, showcases his dedication to continuous improvement. With his undeniable talent and upward trajectory, Stevens is poised to make a significant impact as he continues to develop and rise through the ranks of collegiate recruitment. You can expect him to continue raise his stock as the camp season is about to kick off , which along with the 7v7 season will only allow him to get more reps under his belt.
