By The Platform Scout: Adam Sandoval @AFGP_Sports
The mission and goal of The Platform is to #ExposeTheUnexposed and provide adequate coverage of athletes around the country giving them exposure. We spotlight the next rising prospects from the great state of Texas. These players are on the verge of making a splash on Fridays. Here are several standouts from pool play on Saturday.
Dillon Mitchell | Class of 2028 | Athlete | 7v7: CATTAKEOVER Greatness | @2uperman2
Mitchell is a versatile athlete who can play on both sides of the ball. He showed his breakaway speed early, as he made a clutch reception, as he outran an entire defense for a thirty five yard TD reception across the field and down the sideline. He was a defensive stopper, displaying fluid hips and quick reactions in coverage. Mitchell is a highly talented prospect that will rise to the occasion in crunch time.
Caleb Feliciano | Class of 2029 | Athlete | 7v7: Autumn Ridge MS (Hou., Tx) | 7v7: LOYAL ATHLETES | IG: @cj_fiyahsquad_808
Caleb is a vocal leader on the field, directing traffic and lining up his players making sure the team is in the right alignment. Offensively, he has phenomenal footwork off the line, he uses his quickness and agility allowing him to get open consistently. He is a sure handed wide receiver who is a reliable target. He was a playmaker on the defensive side, he stepped in front of several passes, showing the ability to break on the ball, hauling in a pick six. Caleb was a key contributor, helping his team going 3-0 on Saturday.
Liam Jones | Class of 2028 | Wide Receiver | Doberman Jr, High (Cibolo, Tx) | 7v7: SA Ducks | @liamjon0905
Jones flashed early, with two impressive head topping grabs over defenders, showing the skill to play above the rim, giving his team a late lead during pool play. Jones has an explosive game, he plays with great technique and his ability to high point the ball with superb body control are traits that stick out in his game. He is a San Antonio area prospect to get eyes on, who has great potential and upside.
Caleb Powell | Class of 2028 | Wide Receiver | Manvel Jr. High (Manvel, Tx) | 7v7: BME
Powell’s ability to get open often puts stress on defenses and he made his opponents pay early during pool play. His ability to get open no matter what coverage he faces enabled him to be a reliable playmaker. Powell displayed dependable hands, he understands how to get open downfield and his elusive, breakaway speed, enabled him to be a consistent offensive threat. Powell is one of the top offensive threats on this rising BME team going into Crown Sunday.
Caiden Lawrence | Class of 2028 | Kincaide Jr. High | 7v7: BME | IG: @d1_caid
Not many defenders could stay in front of Mr. Lawrence. In my words, “He was cookin”, he is shifty off of the line of scrimmage and he is a superb route runner who is a tough cover. What makes Caiden a constant threat offensively, is his ability to get open no matter the coverage and he has strong, reliable hands. Caiden is a bonafide playmaker with the football in his hands and he will be a key cog in the BME offense as they head into Crown Sunday.
