Coach Zach Collins has been apart of the camp scene for several years, hosting and running camps specially designed for linemen. Coach Collins trains some the best offensive linemen in the state of Texas and he teamed up with The 95 Brigade, who focused on the defensive side of the ball, to bring these athletes together for a competitive camp. A state champion, coaching the offensive line at South Oak Cliff in Dallas, the #ForTheTrenches Camp, enables him to work with and train some talented players who are wanting to take their talents to the next level. We spotlight several notable standouts who set the tone over the weekend in Plano, Texas.
Kenneth Harris | Class of 2025 | Dallas Pinkston | @77kenH
Harris is physical at the point of attack, he delivers a stiff punch at impact and he plays with excellent leverage. He moves well in space with excellent short area quickness and he moves well laterally. Harris was impressive in the trenches during the one on ones against the defense. He can play either center or guard and be effective. At 6 foot 3 310 pounds, Harris has good arm length and his ability to lock in on defenders early allowed him to win multiple reps. He is a multi-year starter for Pinkston, he is a road grader in the run game, showing the ability to move defenders off of their axis and he has a nastiness to his game. He has several camp invites in his bag for the summer and he should see his profile elevate with good showings on the camp scene this summer. He has the tools that elite prospects possess at the left tackle position.
Chris Edwards Jr. | Class of 2025 | Arlington Seguin | @Chris_Edwards_
Chris has an extended arm reach, he has a powerful punch at the point of attack and he has quick, nimble feet. He has a stout, powerful base, he plays with good leverage and Edwards Jr. plays with physicality in the trenches. He moves well laterally with excellent short area quickness and he gets into his pass set quickly. Chris was impressive during the one on ones against some quick defenders who put pressure on him early, but his ability to punch and recover quickly enabled him to win several reps. Edwards Jr. made it to finals of the competition portion against the D-line, displaying the ability to get control of his opponent at engagement and he finished his blocks through the whistle. He had a great camp and should have a big year for Seguin in the trenches.
Khalil Sanogo | Class of 2026 | Mansfield Legacy | @KhalilSanogo71
Sanogo passes the eye test at 6 foot 4 290 pounds, he has good length with a stiff punch at the snap and he was able to attack defenders under control during the scrimmage portion against the defense. Khalil moves well laterally, he has clean footwork and he has good bend that enables him to play with good leverage at impact. Sanogo is a powerful player who uses his strength to gain control of defenders and when he locks in on his opponent, he has the ability to take over and drive them off of their axis. Khalil showed that he has the skill set to be a wall at the left tackle position and he had an impressive showing in Plano. Sanogo has interest from UTSA and he has busy summer camp schedule. He will camp this summer at Texas, TCU, SMU, Oklahoma, UTSA and Houston. I expect the buzz on the recruiting trail for Sanogo to ramp up heading into his junior season.
Cam McMillan Jr.| Class of 2025 | Lancaster | @cammcmillan60
Cam plays with a low center of gravity, he uses great leverage at the point of attack and he has the ability to fire off the ball at impact delivering a stiff punch to his opponent. McMillan Jr. has a stout build at 6 foot 2 280 pounds, he has a powerful lower half and he has clean footwork with the ability to move quickly laterally. Cam showed the ability to get the snap off cleanly, make a strong block and this enabled him to win multiple reps at the center position. Cam was impressive during the camp, he displayed an ability to bend well and be powerful in the trenches. McMillan had a solid season anchoring the Lancaster line and he returns for his senior season to lead the Tigers offensive line in 2024.
Dan’ Tay Ward Jr. | Class of 2025 | Waco High | @Dantay_wardjr
Ward Jr. is technically sound, he has an extended reach and he moves well in space with good short area quickness. Dan’ Tay is strong at the point of attack, he is able to get into his pass set quickly and his ability to punch with violent hands allowed him to get control of defenders at impact. He has good hip bend, which enables to get low and he plays with excellent leverage. Ward Jr. was able to win several reps early and he finished with the final group on the offensive line during the one on one competition against the defensive line. He saw plenty of action his junior year for Waco High and will be a key returner for the Lions in the trenches. UTEP and Prairie View have offered, but his buzz on the recruiting trail should increase as he heads into his senior season.
Prophet Hishaw | Class of 2025 | Longview Pine Tree | @prophethishaw51
Hishaw has a stout build with broad shoulders, he has a powerful punch at impact and he was able stun defenders in the trenches during the scrimmage portion of the camp. He might have been the strongest player in the trenches and when he locked on a defender he gained control from the jump. Prophet has good lateral quickness and his ability to shift his weight to get into position to make a block cleanly was impressive during the one on one drills. After watching his junior season tape, Hishaw flashed as a vicious run blocker, who plays through the whistle and he finishes his opponents to the ground. He plays with a high motor and he has a nastiness to his game. He needs more eyes on him this summer in a camp setting, which could turn up the heat on the recruiting trail for him.
Jayshun Webb | Class of 2025 | Dallas Pinkston | @JayshunWebb777
Webb throws at powerful, stiff punch at engagement, he has a long reach with violent hands and he plays with good leverage with excellent hip bend. He was impressive during the one on one drills versus the defense, showing the ability to get into his pass set quickly and his lateral quickness enables him to stay in front of pass rushers. Jayshun stands at imposing 6 foot 6 with the ability to shift his weight at the snap and get control of his opponent early. He has a nasty streak in the trenches and he plays though the whistle. Webb is flying under the radar on the recruiting trail. He has the skill set to play at the next level and could be a steal for a college program seeking a trench warrior who plays with an attitude.
Jayden Robinson | Class of 2025 | Arlington Seguin | @Jayoooo67
Robinson was the most consistent player on the offensive side of the ball during the one on ones against the defense. He has nimble, quick feet, he plays with a strong base and he uses his long arms to his advantage to deliver a stiff punch at engagement. Jayden plays with good discipline, he doesn’t get off balance and he showed great patience letting the defender come to him at engagement. He is strong at the point of attack, his ability to stay in front of his opponent and stay locked on his target allowed him to win multiple reps. Robinson has the versatility to play all five positions along the offensive line. He started at center for Seguin his junior season, his ability to deliver an accurate snap and make his blocks effectively flashed on his film. He plays with excellent leverage at the point of attack and he has a piston-like leg drive that enables him to be effective in the running game. Robinson was selected as the camp MVP at the #ForTheTrenches event in Plano. He is poised for a breakout season in 2024.
