QB House Bus Retreat: UAB Day One Standouts

    Written by: Drew Johnson (@RealNews102)

College camp season is back around the country as the QB House Midwest Retreat kicked off a 9-day tour with the University of Alabama Birmingham as the first stop. National Scout Drew Johnson will attend various camps this week to highlight notable standouts attending the tour and more.

    Kendall Johnson | WR | 2025 | ZCA | @KxndallJxhnson

What a way to start the tour and build confidence as Johnson earned a verbal offer from the University of Tennesee at Martin and nearly snagged one from the hosting university. He’s a DOG with certain tendencies you can’t teach as he showed off various releases and strong hands while being a little banged up. Very coachable kid who has a chance to lock in multiple offers on this tour.

    Joel Morris | QB | 2026 | Sumner | @Joe1morris

Morris got his feet wet on Day 1 of the Midwest Bus Retreat at UAB which is a familiar school that has already verbally offered him. Morris checks a lot of boxes because of his frame and the advanced mechanics he works on with trainer/recruiter BJ Hall. He threw the ball well to kick off a string of camp sessions where he can continue to separate himself in the class.

    Jaylen White | QB | 2026 | Clearwater | @jaylen_white12

White is another rising prospect on the tour who got a chance to compete in front of UAB coaches who recently verbally offered him as well. He’s a nice dual threat in the 2026 class but now has the chance to show off his arm talent and upside to lead a program under center.

    Myles McDonald | QB | 2027 | Carrollwood Day | @813_mcdonald

One of the younger pups on the Bus Tour competes with a sense of urgency because of his early experience. McDonald is a natural lefty with a cannon and has to shock coaches when learning his age. We have seen him continue to develop his overall game but limited mistakes and solid throwing sessions landed his name on the list.

    Jerry Thomas | WR | 2026 | Lakeland | @Showtime2swift

This kid has the frame and tools to be a Power 4 recruit in the 2026 class. He has to want it and go dominate because he nearly had an offer today at UAB. Plenty more days to go so watch out for Thomas to use this as motivation to perform well in the next few days.

    Blake Johnson | QB | 2025 | Bartow | @blakejohnson_11

Fresh off a productive spring that led to eye-popping spring game stats, Johnson made his way to UAB to show off the work and confidence he has built heading into this new season. He always throws a nice ball but you can tell his game is coming together.

    BEST OF THE REST:

These three were the most dominant WR prospects at the camp. Besides 2025 Kendall Johnson, no one was better in the 1v1 period than this group.

    Jeremiah Thomas | WR | 2025 | Saint Clair | @jayythomas_11

    Corey Barber | WR | 2026 | Clay-Chalkville | @CCHSfootbal

    Noah Brown | WR | 2025 | MHS | @NoahBrown222
