Washburn University held its annual Prospects Camp on June 12th in Topeka, Kansas. Over 450 athletes from 15 different states came to showcase their abilities, compete, and gain exposure in front of the Washburn coaching staff as well as scouts from other collegiate programs.
The Washburn coaching staff on hand included Jacob Glendinning (@CoachJTGlen), Nelly Vazquez (@CoachNellyV), Jarvis Harrod (@CoachJarvis3), Kellen Simoncic (@Kellen_simoncic), Travis Britz (@Travis_Britz), Tyce Brown (@CoachTyceBrown), and Julian Mendez (@CoachJulianM). Director of Player Personnel Ross Sharp (@CoachSharpWU) and Assistant Director of Player Personnel Benjamin Doole (@BenjaminDoole) joined Head Coach Zach Watkins (@Zach_Watkins) in evaluating talent throughout the day.
Washburn University’s football program has a strong history of developing talent for the next level. Notable alumni include Trey Lewis, Michael Wilhoite, and Cary Williams. Current NFL players from Washburn include Corey Ballentine (Indianapolis Colts) and Kyle Hinton (Atlanta Falcons). Beyond football, Washburn is recognized nationally for its prestigious Law School, Business College, and Health Professions programs.
Washburn’s coaching staff also welcomed DR Sportz and “The Platform”, giving athletes another valuable opportunity to be scouted and promoted on a national scale.
Standout Performers at the Washburn Ichabods Prospect Camp
Roman Miller (@RomanMille1548) – 2026 | TE | Basehor-Linwood HS (KS)
Miller put on a clinic. At 6’3”, 215 pounds, he combines college-ready size with advanced route running. He consistently created separation and forced defenders into mistakes, capitalizing with precise timing and positioning. Miller showed top-end speed and made two diving one-handed catches that highlighted his elite hands. He stole the show with his dominant performance.
Nick Radi (@radi_nick) – 2026 | QB | Thomas Jefferson HS (CO)
Radi impressed with his ability to make tight-window throws and smart decisions during group play. He has the arm talent for the next level, but his greatest strength is his football IQ. Radi processes quickly, manipulates safeties with his eyes, and works through progressions with patience before delivering accurate, catchable balls.
Cody Wright (@codyawright07) – 2026 | LB | Colby HS (KS)
A regular on “The Platform,” Wright once again proved why he’s one of the top linebackers in Kansas. His physicality in both run and pass defense stood out. He has sideline-to-sideline speed, excellent coverage skills, and a high football IQ that allows him to read and react to offensive plays with precision.
T.J. Minikwu (@TJ_Minikwu) – 2026 | RB | Washburn Rural (KS)
Minikwu is a powerful back at 6’2”, 240 pounds, with surprising burst and breakaway speed. He runs with a low pad level, delivering punishment to would-be tacklers when you turn on his fall film. A true hidden gem, Minikwu projects as a feature back at the next level.
Adam Gisler (@adamgisler1) – 2026 | RB | Platte County HS (MO)
A return name from “The Platform,” Gisler earned a Washburn offer with his performance. He runs with deep knee bend, great balance, and explosive cuts. His smooth style, combined with toughness and field vision, makes him a complete back.
Bryce Randall (@BryceRandall0) – 2026 | HB/LB | Olathe Northwest (KS)
Randall excelled as a pass-catching running back and showed natural athleticism throughout the day. A standout in baseball as well, Randall is a true two-sport athlete with elite upside in both sports.
Spencer Anderson (@d1anderson73) – 2026 | WR | Jersey Village HS (TX)
Anderson thrived from the slot, using his route manipulation and strong hands to find space. He exploited defensive back over-aggression with quick adjustments and consistently created open targets for his quarterbacks. He defines what you want in a possession receiver.
Brayden Pappas (@PappasBrayden) – 2026 | RB | Eisenhower HS (KS)
Pappas was the fastest player at the camp, clocking top times in the 40-yard dash and 5-10-5 shuttle. He backed that up with explosive burst, balance, and elite pass-catching skills during drills. Pappas dominated group play and stood out as one of the camp’s most complete backs.
Talan Eddins (@eddins_talan) – 2026 | WR | Cameron HS (MO)
Eddins was the breakout receiver of the camp. His near-elite speed, route control, and ability to adjust on the fly made him a nightmare for defensive backs. He consistently found space, especially in red zone and scramble situations, and caught every pass thrown his way.
