2026 RB Larry Sanders (Houston Lamar HS) aka SRT Larry has quietly been putting together a breakout season. Through 5 games, he’s only 64 yards shy of last year’s rushing total. That is nothing short of remarkable. He had an outstanding showing vs. Alief Elsik, where he put up 142 yards and 4 touchdowns on 7 carries. Sanders is expected to have big games like that for the rest of his senior season. If his workload increases, he can put up video game numbers. Keep in mind that he’s doing this on less than 10 rushing attempts per game, but he’s averaging over 9 yards every touch. Sanders is also a threat to catch passes out of the backfield. This kid is a three down back who can stretch the field with his quality route running ability and speed. He has really good vision between tackles and can make defenders miss with jump cuts and dead leg. He’s one of the bright spots on this Lamar Texans squad, who is the cream of the crop in Houston ISD. Sanders may be a bit of a late bloomer as a college prospect, but he’ll be a gem for whoever gives him an opportunity. He can be used in many ways and have the stamina to keep up his production through four quarters.

    Mid-season stats:

    – 48 carries
    – 439 yards
    – 4 rushing touchdowns (5 total)
    – 9.1 yards per carry
