Florida Signal Callers Shine: 18U QB Standouts Take Over Day One at Road To The Crown Tampa

Day one of the Road To The Crown Tournament in Tampa featured plenty of explosive offensive performances, and the quarterback play in the 18U division was a major storyline. With several talented signal callers from across Florida leading their squads in pool play, the field was full of big arms, precise ball placement, and quarterbacks capable of pushing the ball vertically. From established recruits with multiple offers to emerging prospects starting to build recruiting momentum, these quarterbacks set the tone early and showed why Florida continues to produce some of the top passing talent in the country.

Several QBs separated themselves on Saturday with standout performances, showing command of their offenses, the ability to stretch the field, and the composure to deliver in tight coverage windows.

    Hudson West

West looked every bit like one of the premier young quarterbacks in Florida on day one. The 6-foot-5 sophomore possesses a strong arm with clean mechanics and an efficient throwing motion, consistently getting his hips involved to generate extra torque on his throws. His quick release and ability to drive the football downfield helped him throw multiple touchdowns during pool play.

West already has an impressive recruiting list with offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Toledo, and FIU, and his sophomore season production backs up the attention. In 2025 he threw for 2,836 yards and 26 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the most productive young passers in the state.

    Noah Patton

Class of 2028 | Venice HS

Patton showcased a strong arm and natural athleticism in the pocket, consistently pushing the ball downfield with accuracy. He was particularly impressive on throws outside the pocket, showing the ability to roll out and deliver accurate passes on the move.

His fall film shows a quarterback comfortable throwing while on the run, mixing in touch throws and layered passes to different levels of the field. Patton already has recruiting momentum and is scheduled to take a spring visit to Florida, a program keeping a close eye on the talented Venice signal caller.

    Ben Tifer

Tifer was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the 18U division Saturday. The Dunedin standout consistently threw strikes into tight coverage, showing strong field vision and a quick, compact release.

He delivered multiple touchdown passes during day one action in Tampa, demonstrating the ability to read defenses quickly and place the football where only his receivers could make plays.

    Adrian Cook

Class of 2027 | West Port HS

    Twitter: @Zone6aj

Cook had one of the most impressive mornings of pool play while leading Clutch Performance. At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, he brings ideal size for the position and showed off a big arm paired with excellent deep ball touch.

Cook threw several touchdown passes, consistently pushing the ball over the top of defenses. His quick release and vertical passing ability stood out throughout the morning session. His fall tape also highlights his ability to extend plays and make throws while on the move, along with the athleticism to create plays in the run game.

Despite his skill set, Cook remains somewhat of a hidden gem, but his performance in Tampa showed he is a quarterback that college coaches need to get eyes on quickly.

    Richard Roundtree

Class of 2028 | Hawthorne HS

    Twitter: @QB1Richard

Roundtree displayed the tools that made him one of the most productive sophomore quarterbacks in Florida. He showed a strong arm with the ability to spray the entire route tree with accuracy, while also demonstrating impressive touch on the deep ball.

His sophomore season numbers tell the story of his playmaking ability:

    • 2,581 passing yards
    • 30 passing touchdowns
    • 5 rushing touchdowns

Roundtree is a prospect to keep a close eye on, and his performance on Saturday positioned him as a player to watch heading into Crown Sunday.

    Tyler Bloom

Class of 2028 | Cape Coral HS

    Twitter: @TylerBloomQB18

Bloom turned in one of the most technically sound performances among the quarterbacks in attendance. He showed clean mechanics and a strong arm, consistently throwing from a solid base and delivering accurate passes outside the numbers.

His ability to place the ball into tight coverage windows and maintain touch on deep throws stood out throughout the day. Bloom also demonstrated the arm strength needed to attack all areas of the field.

The Cape Coral quarterback is gaining attention as a rising prospect in the state of Florida, and he has already received a camp invitation from North Dakota State.

    Kingston Johnson-Liebler

Class of 2027 | Bloomingdale HS

    Twitter: @KingstonJQB

Johnson-Liebler showed impressive arm talent and versatility on Saturday. He possesses a strong arm and the ability to throw from multiple arm slots, which allows him to create passing lanes and deliver the football under pressure.

He made several impressive throws into tight coverage windows, including a touchdown pass on a perfectly placed throw during pool play. On film, he also shows athleticism in the pocket and strong deep ball touch, making him a quarterback capable of extending plays and attacking defenses vertically.

    Day One Wrap Up

With several talented quarterbacks putting on a show Saturday, the 18U division at Road To The Crown Tampa proved to be loaded with high-level passing talent. From established recruits like Hudson West to emerging prospects such as Adrian Cook and Tyler Bloom, the group featured a mix of size, arm strength, and playmaking ability.

As the tournament shifts to Crown Sunday, these signal callers will once again be in the spotlight. If day one was any indication, the quarterback play will continue to drive the action as teams battle for the championship and more prospects look to elevate their recruiting stock.
