Tampa Flex 12U Punches Ticket to DR7 Crown with Huge Win

Tampa Flex proved to be the top 12U team, not only at DR7 Apollo Beach, but one of the top teams in the Nation in the 12U Division.

With Strong Wide Receiver tandem of MVP’s Otto Brown and King Howard, Tampa Flex breezed through the field of 19 12U teams, resulting in a resounding 30-13 Title winning performance.

Day one Pool Play found Tampa Flex winning their first game 20-2 over always strong Prime8. In the second game of Pool Play, Tampa Flex played Prospect Performance where they ran the score to a 26-0 victory. Finally in the last game for Pool Play, Flex defeated Villages Stampeders 37-6 to end the day 3-0, and found themselves carrying a #3 seed into Bracket Play Sunday.

Sunday Bracket Play, Flex earned a first-round bye with their #3 Seed. Round two found Flex playing a familiar foe from Saturday’s Pool Play, Village Stampeders, where the result was almost identical as the previous day’s score, coming away with a 31-6 win to advance to round three where they would play always tough MFTK. Flex came away with a 27-6 victory over the Spartans to earn a trip into the Semi Finals.

The Semi Finals game proved to be a tough test vs #2 Seed NextLevel in a very highly anticipated battle. Next Level was led by phenomenally accurate QB Mason Rueter and one of the top Wide Receivers in Apollo Beach regardless of division, ultra-dynamic Knox Megeoghan.

Flex was able to meet the challenge with a 23-16 Semi Finals victory, setting up the game vs Rival, and #1 Seeded Team Elite All the Smoke.

From both sides of the ball, King Howard was a huge presence from his Wide Receiver position as well as his Safety position.

Wisely, Team Elite QB Raymond Murray stayed away from throwing Howard’s direction, therefore Howard completely locked down the entire half of the field. Murray, a consistent, well-schooled QB with great leadership, knows where to not go with the ball just as much as where to go with the ball.
