True Buzz is no stranger to The Platform and a top contender in the DR7 circuit. Many people picked them as favorites as well as to win it all on Sunday. It’s rare you get a squad to run the table and even more impressive if it’s one of the top teams because every team aims high & plays their best against great competition. Well…. that’s EXACTLY what True Buzz 18U did! Residing near the Dallas area, True Buzz came all the way to Houston and dominated both days. It started in pool play on Saturday with consecutive wins over CAT Takeover National, EPS Blaze and Mike Evans Elite. All 3 games won by an average margin of victory of 17 with a little over 5 points per game given up by the defense. That performance earned them the #2 overall seed in the 18U bracket. On Championship Sunday, True Buzz turned it up a notch, improving by 5+ points per game. The Dallas natives had to win 4 games to make it to the 18U title game, which culminated in a victory over fellow powerhouse, The Woodlands 18U. It came down to final play of the game. The Woodlands quarterback drops back, throws, INCOMPLETE! Let the smoke hit the air and let the celebration begin. Congratulations to True Buzz, who captures DR7 (Houston, TX) 18U crown in extraordinary fashion.

    26′ QB Chuck Smith (ChuckSmith_8)

Chuck Smith was dialed in all weekend for True Buzz. This kid was amongst the best quarterbacks in the entire tournament, regardless of age group. Chuck can make every throw necessary and have really good habits of seeing the field and a play developing before it happens. Smith is a sophomore at Highland Park HS (TX).

    NOTABLE TRAITS

    –  DECISION MAKING

    – ACCURACY

    – ARM TALENT

    26′ DB Collin Cottingham (Cottingham_2026)

Cottingham have what it takes to be a complete player. The 2026 defensive back really can play both sides of the ball with his size and mobility. Collin played with True Buzz this weekend and was a major contributor to them bringing home the trophy. Cottingham is a sophomore at South Oak Cliff HS (TX).

    NOTABLE TRAITS

    – FLUIDITY

    – QUICK REACTION

    – HANDS

    25′ WR Camron Marsh (cantguardcam_)

Camron Marsh was a highly productive player in DR7’S (Houston, TX) tournament. This kid really get active. There’s no denying that Camron have that DAWG in him. He played hard as if he had a chip on his shoulder and made it known that he was out there. His impact was unbelievable and what he brought to the turf was contagious amongst his teammates because they had to match energies. Marsh have a huge, passionate stage presence that can’t be taught but most importantly, he backed it up on the field. There wasn’t one team that had an answer for him, no matter where he lined up. If I was a college program, I’d want this playmaker on my team. Marsh is a junior at Rockwall HS (TX).

    NOTABLE TRAITS

    – VERSATILE ROUTE PACKAGE

    – GREAT HANDS

    – ELITE SEPARATION
