Clearwater Central Catholic is one of the top teams in the state of Florida and has now moved to 4-0 on the season and 31-6 over the past 3+ seasons. The Marauders took on cross town  rival Clearwater Tornadoes who came into the game 2-1. The Clearwater Tornadoes team was very impressive and made plays all night. But ultimately the Marauders were too much and closed out the game. The championship pedigree showed it’s true grit. The play of the night goes to the Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and the players on Offense. The scenario was; Clearwater Tornadoes just kicked a field goal to put heir team down 20-27 and it came down to a 4th &1 on the minus 29-yard line, with 3:23 left on the clock. Junior Quarterback  Khayse Barrett ran up the middle for a 3-yard run, pushing through defenders. That was a championship style fourth down conversion.

The Clearwater Tornadoes are an outstanding team that is well coached with athletes and playmakers all over the field on all three phases. But the focus of the day was on Clearwater Central Catholic.

You can instantly see why the Marauders are one of the top programs in Florida. This team is well coached, scheme sound and play with a collegiate flow to the game. It really fired me up watching these two teams compete.

Dicarieze Williams | LB/RB/ATH | c/o 2027: [@dicarieze41605] One of the players that jumped out from start to finish and if I were giving out a player of the game, helmet sticker or a team award this would be the guy. #17 Dicarieze Williams was literally all over the field. Dicarieze has elite instincts and a high motor. He is strong at the point of attack and is able to shed blockers to make a tackle. He diagnosis the play extremely quickly and has great change of direction. A knack for timing on blitzes and consistently runs to the ball. Anytime you see a tackle being made, #17 is getting in on the action. If his defensive prowess was not enough, he goes in as an RB/FB on short yardage, goal line and must have running downs. Whether a lead blocker or a ball-carrier he takes that physicality from defense and applies it to the offensive side of the ball. Dicarieze had a rushing Touchdown as well. Really an exciting athlete to watch.

Dujuan Davis | OT | 6’8” 380:  [@Dujuan_Davis56] If you have seen the HBO TV show Game of Thrones, then you know who the Mountain is…That would be the one word I would use to describe Dujuan would be the Mountain. He has a smooth kick-slide and smothers pash rushers effectively. For his sheer size he moves very well out of his stance. Heavy hands would be an understatement, controls defenders at the point of attack and controls the line of scrimmage. I saw consistent hand placement and wide base and good body control in space. I observed his high awareness to recognize blitzes, stunts, and twists.

Khayse Barrett | QB | c/o 2027: [@BarrettKhayse] I definitely see a lot of playstyle similar to a Jalen Hurts. Can make any throw and has very good placement on the deep ball. Generates velocity with ease with a compact release and has clean footwork from the gun. He is calm under pressure but always keeps his eyes downfield. Like Jalen has dual threat ability both from short yardage designed runs, to escaping the pocket and making huge gains with his legs. He is a playmaker and is very effective as managing the game. What I mean by managing the game is he is not going to put the ball in jeopardy and will extend plays and throw it when he’s able or tuck and run when all options are covered. An all-around solid quarterback. I don’t mean solid as in average but solid in that there is not a lot of holes in his game.

Tyrique Harris | MLB |6’1” 205 | c/o 2026: [@TyriqueHarris39] Tyrique flies around and makes plays all game. His speed and concept recognition is rare. Solid frame and has quickness, lateral agility, fluid hips and smothering in pass coverage. Fills gaps with leverage and plays downhill, elite tackler, wraps up well and sure tackler in space. Solid in zone coverage, keeps his eyes on QB and reacts to routes quickly. Times blitzes well and has relentless motor.

Luke Wilson | Slot | c/o 2028: [@luke_wil7]  Really liked what I saw out of the sophomore. Had great focus on tracking the ball, reliable hands, quick tuck after the catch, excellent in space, efficient footwork in/out of breaks, reads coverage leverage well. Had a huge gain called back, so add 50+ receiving yards onto his total at the end of the game. I saw a high motor…He has room to grow but will be a problem not only this year but in the future.

Corey Simms | RB | 5’10” 175| c/o 2026: [@CoreySimms18] Corey is a patient runner who is a playmaker. He looks to have a powerful build, strong base and workhorse style RB. Corey has field vision and presses the hole with patience behind blockers. He is a punishing style runner with balance and body control. Top end speed was evident in 60-yard game sealing Touchdown. Everyone knew he was getting the ball, the defense was in position, and he still took the ball 60 yards. He is also a reliable checkdown option.
