The Villages High School Buffalo have one of the best programs from top to bottom. Facilities are top-notch, broadcast team, social media and most importantly coaching, scheme and athletes. Just a well-built program and it show’s on the field.

The villages came into this game with a record of 5-0, coming off a very impressive win against a very good Tavaras team, 35-14. Today [9/26] they had a home game against Belleview and from the beginning you can tell they had full control of the game. The first possession of the game for Belleview they went for a 4th & 1 on their own 29-yard line and the Buffalo stopped them short and immediately scored to go up 1 score. The great thing about the big win they had from a coaching perspective is; they won the game in dominating fashion, and they have things to work on as they get ready for district play. The Villages scored a lot but still left some meat on the bone. Make no mistake they are a tremendous team and their record in dominating fashion have them thinking district title and beyond! In the Villages district [2A District 6] they have the three-peat state-champion team the  Cocoa Tigers, and a very good team in the Astronaut War Eagles.

The defense was dominant and flying all over the field and the offensive scheme was extremely impressive.

QB | #1 | 2027 | Jadance Kennedy | @JadenceKennedy1

Great field vision by scanning the whole defense and going to secondary reads. Has very high processing speed, tremendous poise as he is calm in the pocket. Has arm strength to make all the throws that you want from a HS QB. Throws with velocity and touch. He slides in the pocket and resets his platform under pressure and can create plays when they break down. He is an RPO threat. He is fearless against defenders and displays extreme confidence. He was very impressive to watch and being as young as he is, has the ability to become even better. Huge potential and high ceiling.

OG | #67 | 2026  Brett Widmann | @Brett_Widmann

Strong as an Ox. Dominates at the point of attack, holds ground versus a bull rush and you rarely if ever see him get walked back. Great finisher wins with leverage and climbs to LBs effectively. Firm pass set and absorbs power rushes with little to no ground lost. Plays with attitude.

WR | #18 | 2027 | Ja’Marian Clark | @JamarianClarkk

Has great size and length with a large catch radius and physical frame. Wins contested catch situations. Adjusts to off target throws and has sideline awareness. Strong and reliable hands and elevates to win jump balls. Makes QB friendly catches. Uses frame to break tackles. Maintains body position through contact. Brings toughness to perimeter run game. Very competitive. Possession and deep threat.

ATH | #8 | 2027 | Kevonte Corbin | @Kevontecorbin7

Had a toss for a touchdown and an interception. First step burst and sudden acceleration and has true breakaway speed. Fluid hips and efficient footwork. Runs with vision and has a quick one-cut. Ball skills able to find the ball without losing leverage, willing to battle WR’s and plays through contact.

RB | #15 | 2027 | Antwon Johnson

Has great vision and instincts. Runs patiently and reads blocks well, presses line before cut, and has natural vision and ID of running lanes. He will find daylight and run downhill. Runs with a strong base and contact balance. Very durable runner and is a three-down back. Explosive run after explosive run. Multiple TD game tonight.

LB\ATH | #3 | 2026 | Robert Sulivan | @Sullivan3Rob

Made plays all night. It seemed like he played in the backfield all night. Really jumped out when watching. Played with energy and was around the ball carrier or QB consistently. Read run and pass keys and attacked fast. Reads the backfield very well. Wraps, drives, and finishes consistently. High effort on every snap.

DE | #13 | 2027 | Ashton Hunt | @ashton_hunt87

Quick get-off at the snap to beat OL. Immediate vertical push to threaten edge. Controls blocker with hands and sheds to make tackle. Strong at first contact vs. run. Relentless chase across the field. Great ability to track the football. Has a high motor and is very durable.

Coaching Spotlight

This was one of my favorite play designs from the Buffalo Offensive Coordinator. The running back, from the pistol position went on a fast exit motion and settled once the ball was snapped. The wing player was in on pass-protection, so this maintained a  6-man protection. This play was called from the left hash and was a pseudo condensed formation. The #2 WR on the right side of the formation ran post and occupied the safety while the corner back widened with the RB in motion. This gave the seam shot to the WR and then the QB delivered a beautiful strike for 6!
