Jeff West Continues Turn Around With 50-12 Win

Jeff West Continues Great Season With 50-12 Win Over Atchison County

Jeff West, after having a rough go the last few seasons, brought in former Washburn University Offense Coordinator and Wide Receivers coach, Jeff Schwinn to lead the turnaround for the Tigers.
Seeing immediate, first year progress, Schwinn coached the Tigers to a convincing 50-12 win vs Atchison County. The Tigers, now 6-1 on the season, travel to Topeka Hayden next Friday to battle the Wildcats for the Big East Conference title. A true testament to Coach Jeff Schwinn’s coaching, to have the Tigers battling for a league title in his first season as Head Coach.

Guiding the Jeff West Offense is 2029 QB, Brixton Schwinn. Brixton, is a Freshman QB that will be one of the top 2029 recruits at the Quarterback position along with Emporia High School and Kansas Colts 7v7, Cael Claibourn. Schwinn peppered the Atchison Defensive backfield all night.

Brixton found multiple weapons to spread the wealth to, but favorite target was his brother, 2027 Brody Schwinn. Brody was the offense MVP with TD receptions from 7 yards, 34 yards, and 37 yards, in addition to multiple double digit yardage receptions along with a 2 Point Conversion.

Adding to the weapons on offense, 2026 Crayton Holman added 50 yards on 3 receptions for his Sr. Night performance. Holman played for Top City Most Wanted 7v7 last season where he gained valuable reps at Wide Receiver as well as leading Top City in Touchdown receptions. In addition to Crayton’s wide receiver duties Friday night, he also contributed valuable plays both receiving punts and kickoff returns while having multiple tackles on kick offs.

On the defense side of the ball for the Tigers at Jeff West, 2027 Jacksen DaSilva turned in a performance at linebacker that should garner him attention from scouts. DaSilva, whom also stared for Top City Most Wanted 7v7, had double digit tackles from his backer position. Adding 3 QB hurries, while making a huge Block Punt with the recovery.

Although Jeff West had many stand out performers, 2027 Corbin Mayer was the MVP for the game.
Offensively Mayer recorded over 50 yards receiving, 50 yards rushing with a pair of touchdowns. One for 27 yards while the other for 1 yard.
Mayer did not find his offense to be good enough, as he decided to take his defense game to another level. Defensively, Mayer recorded 1 Tackle for loss that cost Atchison negative 5 yards. Then added a Fumble recovery that he topped with a 25 yard scoop and score fumble for a touchdown.
While that would be good enough for the MVP honors, Corbin also was 3/3 on PAT attempts.

For Atchison, they were not without a standout performer. 2026 Runningback / Linebacker Max Bottorff punched in 2 touchdowns. Both touchdowns of 16 yards, and 13 yards were strong, pounding, tackle breaking runs that proved there is no quit in Bottorff.
