The offseason is officially underway, and day one of the DR7 Road To The Crown stop in Houston featured high-level competition from youth and middle school prospects. The mission and goal of The Platform is to #ExposeTheUnexposed and provide adequate coverage of athletes around the country giving them exposure.
We spotlight several standout performers who made an immediate impact and are players to watch heading into Crown Sunday.
Maddox Flanigan – QB
7v7: The Lab | 12U
Flanigan delivered a sharp performance on Day One, consistently making timely throws and smart decisions with the football. He displayed a strong arm paired with sound mechanics and showed command of the offense throughout the day. Tossed multiple touchdowns and set the tone for his group.
Symeon Whitfield – QB
7v7: A1 Elite
Whitfield impressed in his opening showing. The left-handed quarterback can really spin it, showcasing athleticism and the ability to make throws on the run. He threaded the needle in tight windows and displayed a quality deep ball, standing out as one of the top signal-callers on the day.
Brandon Bridgewater – ATH
7v7: ALL-EN | 12U
Bridgewater showed excellent instincts on the defensive side, using his speed to cover ground at free safety. He made multiple plays on the ball, recording an interception and several pass breakups. Offensively, he flashed as a polished route runner with strong hands, speed, and quickness to create separation.
Dreice Griffie – ATH
7v7: Freeworld Elite | 14U
Griffie brought a physical presence on both sides of the ball. At the point of attack, he was aggressive and decisive, showing good field awareness in coverage and delivering big hits. Listed at 6-foot, 200 pounds, he has a solid frame with good speed. Offensively, he made several big grabs. Griffie has the makeup of a future 3 or 4 star recruit and will be a name to know in Central Texas at A&M Consolidated.
King Myrick – WR
7v7: DF Elite | 14U
Myrick has a lean frame and showed promise as a route runner with good speed. He consistently created space and flashed playmaking ability. A Class of 2030 prospect, Myrick is one to keep an eye on in the Houston area over the next few years.
David Johnson – ATH
7v7: Freeworld Elite | 14U
Johnson possesses a long, lean frame with a large catch radius. He displayed strong hands throughout the day and made several tough catches, standing out as a reliable target in traffic.
Xavier Robinson – ATH
7v7: Louisiana Mudbugs | 14U
Robinson showcased quickness and agility in space, paired with good speed and strong hands. He made several big catches in traffic and consistently showed the ability to create after the catch.
David Johnson – ATH | Freeworld Elite (7v7)
Johnson is a long, lean athlete with an extended catch radius and he made several contested catches during pool play. He has strong hands and combined with the body control to beat defenders in close quarters and he uses his length well in heavy traffic.
Henry Carter – ATH | Jackboyz (7v7)
Lined up at both quarterback and wide receiver and delivered a strong all-around performance. He showed speed and good hands when he line up at receiver, while also making big throws at quarterback. Carter is a versatile athlete who impacted the game in multiple ways.
Jaxon Woodard – ATH | Louisiana Mudbugs (7v7)
Woodard is a quick, explosive athlete with speed and strong hands. He made multiple big grabs on day one in Houston and consistently showed playmaking ability in space.
Xavier Robinson – WR | Louisiana Mudbugs (7v7)
Robinson is a dynamic playmaker who has quickness and speed. He has strong hands and made several big catches, while coming down with multiple touchdown grabs. Robinson will be a player to watch heading into Crown Sunday.
Jay’Von Landry – ATH | Louisiana Mudbugs (7v7)
Landry has a long, lean frame with good feet and he moves well in space. He has good instincts and he is a playmaker who impacts the game in multiple phases. Landry is a playmaker to watch on Crown Sunday.
