    Platform DFW Signing Day Recap

Signing Day across DFW saw several highly rated recruits make things official, along with a number of elite performers from the 2025 season earning their opportunity to play at the next level.

South Oak Cliff, fresh off its third state championship in the last five seasons, continued to set the standard. Including signees from the December signing period, the program had 26 student-athletes sign to play college football, highlighting the depth and consistency of one of the state’s premier programs.

Below are several key players from the DFW area who signed to play at the next level.

LeBron Bauer | DB | Allen

A three-star recruit, Bauer put together one of the most productive defensive seasons in Texas during the 2025 campaign. He finished the year with six interceptions, eight pass breakups, four blocked punts, 50 total tackles, and two defensive touchdowns.

Bauer helped lead Allen to a 14–1 record and a run to the 6A Division I state semifinals while holding a total of 29 scholarship offers. He is a sticky defender with excellent ball skills, fluid hips, and a physical presence at the point of attack. His skill set projects to early contributions on special teams, with the upside to work his way into the defensive backfield.

Cam Newton | RB | Walnut Grove

Newton delivered two phenomenal back-to-back seasons as one of the most productive running backs in the state. As a junior, he led the Dallas area with 30 rushing touchdowns. He followed that up with a dominant senior season, rushing for 2,367 yards and 41 touchdowns on a 12–1 Walnut Grove team.

He held over 20 offers from programs including Navy, Air Force, and Tulsa. In January, Newton picked up an offer from Colorado, took an official visit, and committed shortly thereafter. The three-star back combines shiftiness in space with power between the tackles, elite receiving ability out of the backfield, breakaway speed, and excellent contact balance. Newton has the traits to earn carries early at the next level.

Legend Howell | QB | DeSoto

Howell’s rise was one of the most impressive stories of the cycle. He began the season without a single offer and ended it as a state champion, signing with the University of Texas Permian Basin.

He led DeSoto to the 6A Division II state title while throwing for 2,896 yards and 34 touchdown passes. Howell shows a strong arm, advanced pocket presence, and the ability to make every throw in the route tree. He is also athletic enough to extend plays with his feet, making him a major pickup for UTPB.

    South Oak Cliff Signees

South Oak Cliff’s class featured 26 total signees between the December and February periods, showcasing a roster loaded with college-ready talent. Notable names include Torrin Teague (Missouri State), Mikail Trotter (Northeastern State), Levon Morton (Weber State), and Brison Ramsey-Brooks (Texas Southern), among others.

Lathon Latiolais | WR | Prosper

One of the most explosive players of the 2025 season, Latiolais was originally committed to Tulsa before ultimately signing with North Texas. The three-star wide receiver finished his senior season with 64 receptions for 1,519 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was voted the 6-6A District MVP, giving defenses the blues on a weekly basis.

Latiolais is a true big-play threat with polished route running, elite quickness and speed, and dynamic ability after the catch. He is a player who can step into the North Texas offense and provide an immediate spark at the next level.
