28′ QB Carson Gurzi (@carson_gurzi) is one of the best young quarterbacks in Louisiana. As a sophomore, he had over 3,300 total yards and 35 total touchdowns. Gurzi strengths are his accuracy and decision making. He scans the field very well, and the arm talent is off the charts. Carson also has the size to play the position at the next level. When you watch this kid play, it’s clear that he’s a collegiate prospect. He set 4 single season records in 2025. In 2026, he looks to add on to his legacy.
28′ WR Darryl Blackmon (@_darrylblackmon) is a three star prospect out of Rain High School in Mobile, Alabama. Standing 6’3, 210 lbs, Blackmon is a specimen. He has good twitch in his hips and fluidity for a guy his size. He has that sneaky long speed that may catch you off guard. He’s only a sophomore and has offers from Mississippi State, Arkansas, Purdue, Tulane, and more. Blackmon has really strong hands and can be a primary option outside of the numbers. Look for this young standout to have a great junior campaign in 2026.
27′ DB Logan Love (@LoganLove00) displayed sticky coverage during pool play at DR7-New Orleans. His footwork allows him to be able to run with speedy receivers and play the ball without getting a penalty. He has great eyes, and his reaction time is always on point. Love stayed near the ball when opportunities presented themselves. Logan has a sound technique, but most importantly, he remains disciplined and does his job. He’s definitely one of the ones that uses 7v7 to sharpen his skill set, and at some point, it’ll pay off.
27′ SAF Brendell Vedol (@brendell_vedol2) fits the mold of a blue-collar athlete. He has that grit that most tough safeties possess. This kid knows what it’s like to battle through adversity and still maintain a high expectation. In his junior season, he made first team all district at Northshore High School in Slidell, Louisiana. Vedol is a physical defensive back who loves to hit. He plays downhill and will light you up. Make no mistake about it, he’s not just a thumper – he has really good coverage skills too. He can play both safety and nickel corner. This kid is disruptive once the ball is in the air and you better be careful when targeting his area.
27′ WR Malcolm Martin Jr (@LaChucky1k) is an explosive athlete who can take the top off of a defense. He just never stops working. Although he’s proven to have versatility, he’s mostly known as a deep threat receiver. Malcolm can play outside or in between the numbers and still have a major impact. He is a really great hands catcher and can consistently win in 1v1 coverage. He jumps out at with how dominant he plays. I have no doubt we’ll be watching this kid on Saturdays a year from now.
27′ SAF Rontrae Carter (@rontrae_carter) has leadership qualities any college coach would love to have. He’s a great communicator and knows the responsibilities of everyone on the field. That’s someone you can build around and will be great to have as a teammate on a confidence level. Carter plays the ball and the receiver exceptionally. He rips through the hands of the receiver at the catch point and makes quarterbacks hesitant about throwing in his area due to how well he can cover ground. Carter already has a ton of offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Florida State, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, and much more.
27′ QB Camden Hughes (@CamdenHughes27) is a gunslinger. He led College Park HS to an undefeated 12-0 record before being sidelined due to an injury that kept him out of the DeSoto game. Hughes most notably has a quick release and a strong arm. He holds several division 1 offers and will only add more as the offseason goes. This kid is definitely a difference maker on the field and can make any receiver a star. When he really gets into a rhythm, there aren’t many quarterbacks that can control an offense like he does. Put this young star on the rise on your radar now.
27′ LB Ian Gray (@doo1of1_) is an impact player who is just all over the field. You have to account for him at all times because you never know where he’ll line up. He can go sideline to sideline, drop back in coverage, rush the passer from the edge, or play the middle. His tape just “wow” you in every way. He can also be a factor on special teams, which tells me that he’s just a football who doesn’t mind doing what the team needs. That shows he isn’t all for self. Gray is relentless in his chase. If he can’t get there, he’ll find a way to get his hands on the ball by batting it down. This young man is a special talent with versatility and crazy upside. Gray plays for Louisiana powerhouse Edna Karr, and he’s a champion, so he has what it takes to uplift a program.
