G.A.T.A. (Get After Them Aggressively) recently held its annual tryouts for their 7v7 football program, and the event showcased some impressive talent. Over the years, 7v7 football has become a valuable offseason tool, helping athletes sharpen their skills in preparation for Friday night lights. It’s also a platform where rising stars can gain experience and exposure ahead of their time under the stadium lights.
This year’s tryouts featured several standout performers, each bringing unique skills and athleticism to the field. These players demonstrated their readiness to contribute not only to the success of G.A.T.A. ‘s 7v7 squad but also to their respective high school teams. We spotlight several standout performers:
MJ Haggan Jr. ( Class of 2027 Wylie East HS) Quarterback
Haggan Jr. has a big arm, with a quick release and a stout frame at 6-foot-1 195 pounds. During the tryout he made throws in tight spaces for completions. He has excellent footwork and his in-game pocket awareness is superb. After watching his fall film, he made plays in rhythm with the ability to make big throws downfield on time with touch. Haggan Jr. is a prospect to watch who has a huge upside.
Tobi Adeoye ( Class of 2026 Plano West HS) Running Back
Tobi displayed a superb pass catching skill set. He has excellent short area quickness, he runs clean routes and tracks the ball well in flight. He made several big grabs in traffic, showing the ability to absorb contact and make contested catches. He has a stout, compact frame, with a powerful lower half at 5-foot-10 195 pounds. After watching his junior tape, he flashes as a powerful runner, he plays with great pad level and is a receiving threat out of the backfield. Adeoye had 682 all-purpose yards and 3 touchdowns his junior year. With increased production, Adeoye should get looks from college programs heading into his senior season.
Samuel Acquaye (Class of 2027 Wylie HS) Athlete
Samuel has excellent ball skills, moves well in space, he has an extended reach, with large hands that engulf the football. He is a savvy route runner and he gets in and out brakes smoothly. Defensively, he can play cornerback or safety, and has the range at safety to cover ground. He displayed great instincts with a high football IQ. He was one of the top playmakers for G.A.T.A. at the tryouts.
Dylan Hatcher (Class of 2028 Hebron HS) Quarterback
Hatcher has the arm talent to make big throws, he pushes the ball outside the numbers on a rope and he made several completions in tight coverage during the tryouts. He has a quick release and has impressive footwork. After watching his freshman tape, Hatchers shows exceptional athleticism and he has the skill set to make plays with his feet. Dylan put up good numbers, 731 yards with 11 TD passes and he rushed for 305 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Kole Chapman (Class of 2028 Plano West Hs) Quarterback
Strong arm with a quick release and he was able to fit the ball in tight spaces. He showed clean footwork with the ability to complete passes in rhythm. Chapman will get stronger as he continues to mature. He is a prospect to watch.
Rukevwe Eruvewtaghware (Class of 2026 Wylie East HS) Defensive Back
He has great length, clean footwork and transitions into his backpedal fluidly. He has excellent ball skills, plays press coverage well and is a sticky defender. Rukevwe uses his length to shut down passing windows. He has the skill set that college coaches covet.
Caleb Rhodes (Class of 2029) Quarterback
Rhodes can spin it, he has a strong arm, he gets the ball out quickly and he makes good decisions with the football. He has the arm talent to push the football outside the numbers on a rope. He had an impressive showing and is a young prospect to keep an eye on.
Xavier Parrish (Class of 2027 Rockwall HS) Athlete
He is explosive and quick off of the line of scrimmage, he has strong reliable hands and he showed the ability to make catches in traffic. Parrish ran crisp routes, showing the speed, agility and burst out of his breaks to get open. He showed his versatility by lining up on defense and breaking up several passes.
Imyous Sewell ( Class of 2028 North Mesquite HS) Athlete
Sewell showed his versatility by playing on both sides of the ball. Offensively he runs crisp routes, gets in and out his breaks quickly and this enabled him to get open in 1v1s and in the scrimmage. He has the speed to get deep and showed strong reliable hands. Defensively he showed clean footwork and the ability to change directions quickly at defensive back.
Moises Turrubiartes (Class of 2027 North Mesquite HS) Wide Receiver
He was one of the most impressive prospects at the tryouts. He is phonebooth quick, has the ability to change directions without false steps and he has a burst out of his break that enables him to get open often. He has sure hands and was almost unguarded in space. Put him in the slot and watch him work. He has a slight frame now but as he matures his game will flourish.
Ayden Martin ( Class of 2030) Athlete
By far one of the most intriguing prospects at the tryout and one of the youngest but he showed up big. He has a stout build, broad shoulders and large mitts that engulf the football. He has good speed, catches the ball well in traffic and defensively has good instincts. In season, Martin lines up at running back and linebacker. Martin will be a name to know on Friday nights in the future.
Andre Husband (Class of 2028 Melissa HS) Athlete
Husband is a versatile athlete who was a standout on both sides of the ball at the G.A.T.A. tryout. Offensively, he showed speed and quickness with superb route running ability. He has strong hands and tracks the ball well in flight. He won several 1v1 reps. Defensively, he has clean footwork and his ability to change directions quickly puts him in position to make plays on the football.
Ivan Escalante (Class of 2026 North Mesquite HS) Wide Receiver
Escalante showed speed and burst with crisp route running ability. He has strong hands and he has an extended reach that enables him to make catches away from his body in traffic. He has the speed to create separation and caught several deep balls. He had a productive junior season with 578 all-purpose yards and 5 touchdowns and was selected 2nd team all-district.
Abdullhi Mahdi (Class of 2026 Princeton HS) Wide Receiver
He flashed, showing good speed and quickness in space. He ran smooth, crisp routes which enabled him to get open. Mahdi has strong, reliable hands and attacks the ball in flight. Mahdi won several reps in 1v1s playing both defensive back and wide receiver.
Peyton Reis (Class of 2026 Grand Prairie Hs) Quarterback
Reis has a strong arm, with the arm talent to push the ball outside the numbers. He made several throws in heavy traffic into small coverage windows for completions. Reis saw extensive action under center at Grand Prairie, showing the ability to make throws on the run and stand in the pocket under a heavy rush and make throws.
Ethan Smith (Class of 2026 Bishop Dunne HS) Quarterback
Smith has the arm talent to make every throw on the route tree. He has a quick release and he has the ability to fit the football into small coverage windows for completions. He has excellent touch on his deep ball. After watching his fall tape, he shows the skill set to make big plays with his arm. He gets the ball out quickly and he understands how to throw his wideouts open.
G.A.T.A.’s 7v7 program continues to be a breeding ground for emerging talent, providing a competitive environment that pushes athletes to elevate their game.
