2031 QB Nathan Coad (C4 Elite 12U) was one of the youngest standouts in pool play on Saturday. This kid have good mechanics for someone his age and an accurate that delivers strikes. Besides Nathan’s pinpoint accuracy, his awareness was incredible. He loves to go for the big play and more times that not it worked in his favor.
2030 QB Mason Medeiros (HPA 12U) looks polished for such a young athlete. He was hitting receivers in stride and fitting the football into tight windows. Mason displayed a good pocket presence and made great decisions with the football. He wasn’t careless nor impatient. The one thing that I noticed the most was how good he was on 3rd down. When his team needed a conversion, he was money. It looks like he have the clutch gene already and the best part is that he is still developing as a quarterback.
2031 QB Messiah Gallien (TTG 12U) is a big kid with nothing but success in front of him. Gallien have a good arm, throws nice touch passes and more importantly, he doesn’t force his pass attempts. Messiah is a well put together young athlete that will only grow more physically. He gave his team a chance by protecting the football and that’s something any coach can hang their hat on.
27′ QB Braden Baker (The Money Squad 18U) stands 6’5 with a rocket of an arm. Braden’s ball placement was to be admired. Oftentimes, you see quarterbacks in 7v7 throw balls into windows they shouldn’t because it could lead to potentially getting your receiver hurt. That’s one of bad habits some kids develop in the game. However, that’s far from the case with Braden Baker. If a wide receiver went across the middle and was sandwiched in between two defenders, he threw the ball low to keep everyone safe. It’s small nuances like that that shows the IQ of a player. Barker also has the ability to throw on the run, a skill that’s needed in today’s game. He have a slender frame but I’m sure that will grow with time, given he’s only a sophomore. Braden Baker attends Cy Ranch in the Houston area and had already received offers em Baylor, Houston, UTSA and Louisiana Tech.
