DR7 The Crown National Championships: 15U Gamebreakers

    Written By: Coach Buckets @PreWarWesley

With elite talent from across the country competing at DR7 The Crown National Championships, the 15U division was stacked with future stars. The athletes showed why they belong among the nation’s best, and several proved to be game-changers on the biggest stage. These standout players deserve recognition from The Platform, as well as the eyes of coaches and scouts moving forward.

    Khayse Barrett (2027 QB | @BarrettKhayse | STP Elite 7v7)

Barrett impressed with one of the cleanest releases in the tournament. His ball comes out with a sharp, tight spiral and elite velocity, making it nearly impossible for defenders to react in time. His anticipation and timing were next level, hitting receivers right as they broke into their routes. With that kind of arm talent and accuracy, Barrett is on track to become one of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 class.

    King Rivera (2028 WR/DB | @k1ngvera | Team Elite All The Smoke)

Rivera proved to be a key weapon in All The Smoke’s championship run. His footwork off the line and ability to separate with sharp route-running made him a nightmare for defenders. Rivera consistently came up clutch, whether it was a crucial 1st down, extra point, or touchdown. He is a rising name to know in the 2028 class.

Antonio Balaguer (2027 QB | @AntonioBal10893 | Team Elite All The Smoke)

Balaguer was arguably the top overall quarterback in the 15U division and one of the most polished prospects in the entire tournament. After throwing 14 touchdowns on Saturday, he guided his squad to The Crown National Championship on Sunday. His technique, mechanics, and leadership were elite. A Florida State hopeful, Balaguer has the “IT” factor and is one of the top QBs in the Tampa area regardless of class.

    Michael Pyne (2028 QB | @MichaelPyne2028 | Prime 8)

Pyne may be ranked No. 3 nationally, but he looked like the top dual-threat QB in the country this weekend. With a college-ready skill set, he checks every box: arm mechanics, accuracy, poise, and leadership. Pyne’s training under former NCAA QB Robert Marve (Miami/Purdue) shows the he’s a polished passer with elite fundamentals. He is a must-watch QB from the 2028 class.

    Bruen Greep (2028 WR | @bruen_greep | Prime 8)

If you’re looking for a masterclass in route running, Bruen Greep is the guy. Nicknamed “The Route King,” Greep dazzled with his precision and body control. His ability to cut sharply using deep knee bend and not just hip lean were traits that stuck out in his game. He consistently found space underneath, even against double coverage, and left defenders lost in traffic. Greep was one of the most technically sound receivers during both days at The Crown.
