    DR7 OPENER • HOUSTON, TEXAS

The Road To The Crown tournament in Houston showcased some of the top talent in the area, as the DR7 Road To The Crown Tournament season kicked off, bringing together rising stars and elite competition.

Sawyer Januse • Class of 2028 • Wide Receiver • Franklin HS • Twitter: @Sawyerj_1

Januse was the total package during pool play at the DR7 Road To The Crown opening weekend in Houston. He made crucial catches that lead to several touchdowns. He exceled at yards after the catch, turning a short hitch route into six points. Januse showed that he has the speed and burst to change gears in an instant. That alone tells you what your gonna get out of the rising sophomore to be who plays at Franklin High School where he plays in the Wing T offense. During pool play he showcased his ability to get open and make plays. He ability to play bigger than his frame shows he has some upside to his game.

Anthony Weatherspoon • Class of 2026 • Wide Receiver • Sothern Lab (La.) • Twitter: @anthonyw121212

Weatherspoon’s speed was on display early on day one in Houston. He has an uncanny ability to get open against multiple coverages and he finds the void in the defense quickly. He runs routes with quickness. With a free release Weatherspoon can manipulate defenders quickly, enabling him to get open often. He is shifty in space, he runs crisp routes and he had several grabs that moved the chains during pool play. Weatherspoon runs his routes with good tempo and pacing. He can alter the speed of his routes and breaks effectively. Weatherspoon displays good speed to win vertically out of the slot on routes like posts and seams. He has the skill set to be a threat wherever he lines up.

Trevon Johnson • Class of 2027 • Running Back • Tomball HS  • Twitter: @TrevonJohnson34

Johnson showed above average quickness and superb lateral agility. He is an excellent route runner with vision and conviction as a runner. Consistent catches out of the backfield as well as a Receiver. Seems experienced for a sophomore which will only increase his play style as a running back. Has potential D1 talent with a ton of room to grow.

Courtney Lewis • Class of 26 • Wide Receiver • Cypress Lakes • Twitter: @ballwitcee

Evaluating Lewis the first attribute that jumps out about Lewis is speed. He is a game breaker with a fast first-step, Lewis showed he has a second gear to accelerate down the field which created a decoy at times which lead to Touchdowns for the offense . He can run by double coverage and score from anywhere on the field. His speed and athleticism allow him to consistently generate separation from defensive backs because he is very difficult to run with. Lewis Another explosive Receiver with a lot of talent and Instincts for the game.

Jasiah Donofrio • Class of 2026 • Wide Receiver • Cypress Springs • Twitter: @thesydonofrio

Donofrio26A Thrilling game-breaking talent who came into day one with exploding off the ball. His whereabouts pre-snap and post-snap must be accounted for at all times. With Great size, he’s able to move inside and outside but can be a legitimate outside option. Has the ability to take the top off the defense, but also go up and win 50-50 throws. Whether it’s a quick catch or a deep ball, the catch will be made. Day 2 awaits.

    Ty Sexton • 2026 • Wide Receiver • Bridgeland • @Ty_Sexton3

Sexton’26, very explosive wr who contributed on a ton of drives though out each game played. Very smooth route runner getting in and out of breaks with ease being a nightmare in one on one coverage with his quick release and snap down routes leaving defenders lost most of the day. Very sticky hands which he had no problem bringing in catches. Gonna be one to watch this offseason as he gears up for a Sr campaign at Bridgeland.

    Dorian Rodgers Jr• Nickel/Corner• 5’8_160lbs • MoneySquad7v7 • Cy Ranch HS

Dr opened the year with a lot of defensive players that stood out and Rodgers Jr was one of my favorites who despite his size at 5’8 he didn’t shy away from any defender and played above his size as another day 1 Baller on defense playing inside at the nickel position. Very impressive in zone coverage knowing exactly where he was on the field and made a couple of key break ups including an interception to add to his stats. With Time and more reps his Stock will rise this offseason.
