27′ QB Myles Mcdonald (@813_mcdonald) was exceptional during pool play at DR7 – Orlando, FL. Mcdonald played in the DR7 circuit before, so although he’s young, he’s no rookie. Myles has a cannon for an arm and he’s precise in his throws. This kid is undoubtedly talented enough to play at the highest level. Mcdonald have a build in resemblance to former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb, which is a positive because he can stand in the pocket and absorb the big hits at times. His mechanics are good and the timing of his release is to be admired.
29′ QB Kehber Nijher (@KabNijher5) played really well this weekend in DR7 – Orlando, FL. He’s one of the rising, young signal callers in all of Florida. Nijher is only in the 8th grade so he still has a ton of football ahead. Kehber has shown tremendous progression from last year when I first saw him perform to now. His passes have plenty of zip and he don’t have to throw his shoulders out in doing so. Nijher commands respect in the huddle and is a smart decision maker.
27′ QB Khayse Barrett (@BarrettKhase) was outstanding during both pool play and championship Sunday. Barrett is a stocky athlete who possesses a powerful delivery. When he’s in rhythm, his spiral looks like a thing of beauty coming off his fingertips. Khase was part of the winning Slimey Boyz 15U team that took home the trophy, much to the chagrin of his performance. His ability to throw into tight windows effectively was damaging for opposing teams. I look forward to following this kid in the near future.
28′ QB Brycen Marbrey (@BrycenQB1) has it all. He looks the part, his size, mechanics, the way he sees the field and much more. His anticipation of knowing where the receiver will be is next level. For a freshman quarterback, he isn’t supposed to be as advanced as he is. Marbrey is a young, fast developing prospect who has already received college interest. The more camps Brycen attends, the higher he’ll be ranked in due time. He’s a true gunslinger who stands out from the pact. Marbrey has a bright future ahead.
25′ QB Javier Yandiel (@JavierYandiel) is a senior athlete who is looking to play at the next level and has the tools to do so. Yandiel is very smooth and makes really good reads. Yandiel was a solid, pleasant surprise. I loved his poise on every drive, which is a major factor at playing quarterback. Although he’s from New York, which is predominantly a basketball state, he looks to help prove that they have some ballers in the gridiron as well.
28′ QB Brady Quinn (@QBQuinn2) is one of the best freshmen I’ve seen thus far and I don’t say that loosely. The football jumps out of Brady’s hand each time he lets it rip. He stands about 6 feet even and he’s still growing. Quinn was arguably the most eye-popping quarterback this weekend. He can make every throw. Perhaps the most impressive thing I saw was how consistent he was in making the far out routes look easy. Anybody who knows the game will tell you that is one of, if not the hardest attempts to make in football. Quinn holds offers from Ole Miss, Louisville, Syracuse, Missouri and more.
27′ QB Landen Holley (@LandenHolleyQB) was a star this weekend at DR7 – Orlando, FL. Holley is well polished and seemingly well coached. His ball placement wasn’t just great for 7v7 but it’s a skill set that can be used on Friday nights in 11-man ball. Landen made throws that were jaw-dropping, but at times, he took what the defense gave him until things opened up for a big play to show off his rocket arm. Landen fit passes into tight spaces but not to where the defender could make a play on it. Holley have received offers from USF, Florida and UCF. Expect more to come as the offseason goes.
26′ QB Noah Grubbs (@NoahGrubbsQB) is a walking, soon-to-be D1 starter. Grubbs doesn’t even have to be out there playing 7v7 due to him being a four-star recruit and his commitment to the University of Notre Dame. However, he still wants to polish his game and stay sharp. Standing at 6’4, with the modern, prototype stature for a quarterback, this kid is what most recruiters would build in a lab. He’s an accurate passer with a great pocket presence and displays a great deal of poise. There’s not much left to be said about Noah. He leaves you in awe after every outing and is a threat to have you speechless each time he drops back. It’s not a pass he can’t make. Grubbs is a leader by example on and off the field and will make an immediate impact for the Fighting Irish.
28′ QB Hudson West (@HudsonWest10) had a great showing this weekend in DR7 – Orlando, FL. West is an elite passer that checks every box that you would want as a quarterback from a physical standpoint. He started as a freshman on varsity this past season for Sarasota High School in Florida. Hudson was dropping dimes all tournament long. His pinpoint accuracy made it tough for opposing teams. Hudson throws a very catchable ball that’s wide receiver friendly. He’s definitely a college prospect, so it’s only a matter of time before his recruitment take off.
26′ QB Eddie Mamudi (@EddieMamudiQB) can really sling it. From short to intermediate and even deep attempts, there’s no denying that the talent is there. Mamudi is a well-oiled machine with a ton of upside. This kid has a solid, prototypical frame. He goes through his progressions very well and makes great reads and timely throws. His deep ball is always on point and hits the receiver in stride consistently. There’s no drop off with his touch passes either. This offseason is very important for Mamudi’s recruitment and he’s off to a good start. He should get more interest from the collegiate level by the end of spring.
