Coach Buckets: First off, tell us your highlights from this past season in 2024. Any major accomplishments or numbers that you would like to share?
Blue Zambo: “This past season it was been great playing with a team that brings out the best in me. I was super proud of myself last season. I gave up zero catches throughout the whole year and I will try and continue that throughout my whole career.”
Coach Buckets: With those accomplishments, how has your recruitment been going? Any camp invites or offers? Tell us how your recruiting has been going. Talk about your schedule for this summer.
Blue Zambo: “My recruitment started off slow but I am getting the recognition I deserve now with some camp invites. I haven’t gotten any offers as of now, but I know the work I’m putting in will pay off.”
Coach Buckets: When you go to a camp or a visit, make sure you are interviewing them as well. So with that being said, what are you looking for in a school? Do you have an interest in a certain college major?
Blue Zambo: “Something I look for in a school is if they truly care about me and how my career will go.”
Coach Buckets: One thing that I like to look at with a player, is called, “The Good, the Bad & the Ugly”. So we all see highlight films. The problem with that, is that, they are just that, highlights. What I like to see is how an athlete reacts on the next play, after a bad play. If he’s quarterback, is he gun shy, does he hesitate on his next throw or take something off his velocity. If he is a cornerback and gives up a touchdown, does he come out the next play and panic? Does he forget about that play and make up for it with a PBU? If a receiver drops a pass, does he try to think too hard about his next route and slows down or weakens his cut. How do you mentally deal with the next play?
Blue Zambo: “How I mentally deal with a play that goes wrong is just playing in the present. You can’t go back and change what happened, but you can always make up for it by going out there and showing them what your capable of doing.”
Coach Buckets: What do you believe are your strongest attributes? What sets you apart as a standout player?
Blue Zambo: “One of the strongest attributes in my game is the relentlessness I bring and never wanting to stop playing until that game is officially over. I also bring energy that can spark at any time to go out and do something amazing! “
Coach Buckets: At the Platform, we are always putting the athletes first, and as our slogan states, “expose the unexposed”. Do you have any fellow players on your high school team that you feel are stars in the making?
Blue Zambo: “Several teammates that I feel can be stars are my brother Stone Zambo and Gavin Heller. Stone has a great work ethic. Gavin is one of the top receivers on my team. He and I push each other at practice and this is allows us both to work on our craft and get better.”
Thank you for your time and hope to see your recruitment take off!
