    DFW Week 4 Games to Watch

    District play officially kicks off for most teams across the Metroplex this week, and the stakes immediately get higher. Several heavyweights will be tested before the push toward playoff positioning begins, while a handful of unbeatens square off to see who is for real. From potential district title previews to programs looking for statement wins, Week 4 offers a slate of can’t-miss games in DFW.

     

    Southlake Carroll (3-0) vs. Euless Trinity (3-0)

    • The Storyline: This might be the game for the District 4-6A crown. Both teams are undefeated, playoff-bound, and built very differently. Carroll with explosive skill talent and a suffocating defense, Trinity with size and physicality. 
    • Southlake Carroll: 
      • Offense known for WR Brock Boyd and QB Angelo Renda &  WR Brody Knowles. 
      • Defense has been dominant, allowing just 10 total points in three games. 
      • Names to know: DL Jake Lucky, DB William Chen, DE Zac Hays, LBs Robbie Ladd & Will Taholo. 
    • Trinity: 
      • Offense has rolled to 33, 28, and 45 points in its first three games. 
      • Key playmakers: QB Mack Lineweaver, ATH JT Harris, OL Tia Katoa, LB Gordon Mohetau, DB John Meredith. 
    • What to Watch: Carroll’s defense vs. Trinity’s physical run game will decide who stays unbeaten. 

     

    Duncanville (2-0) vs. Waxahachie (3-0)

     – District 11-6A showdown

    • The Storyline: Duncanville is the district favorite, but Waxahachie is a rising contender. Knocking off the Panthers would mark a huge leap forward for the Indians. 
    • Duncanville: 
      • A well-rounded team: physical in the trenches, explosive on the perimeter. 
      • Offensive weapons: QB Max Denson, WRs Trenton Yancey, Ayson Theus, Zachery Turner, Emmanuel Ellison, RB Brayden Arnold. 
      • Defensive anchors: DEs Landon Barnes & KJ Ford, LB Jaylyn Manning, DL Dylan Williams, DB Braylon Edwards. 
      • OL Aiden Williams helps set the tone. 
    • Waxahachie: 
      • Riding momentum after a key Week 3 win over Forney. 
      • Key leaders: QB Jerry Meyer III, ATH Kohen Brown, WR Jordan Smith, LB Kade Tolleson, DB Jayquan Snell, LB Da’Marion Cooper, DE Carmelo Clawson. 
    • What to Watch: Can Waxahachie’s defense slow down Duncanville’s deep roster of playmakers long enough to keep it close? 

     

    North Forney (3-0) vs. Mansfield Lake Ridge (3-0)

    • The Storyline: Two unbeaten teams colliding in a potential shootout. Both offenses are capable of putting up points in bunches. 
    • North Forney: 
      • Averaging over 52 points per game through three weeks. 
      • Leaders: QB Legend Bey, WRs Briceson Thrower Jr. & Elijah Otieno, DB Ryan Gilbert, DL Dazmean Bryant, RB Andikan Asuquo. 
    • Mansfield Lake Ridge: 
      • Identity is built on a strong O-line and physical run game. 
      • Playmakers: QB DeShawn Edwards, RB Jaiden Cotton, OL Felix Ojo, LB Jayden Cupitt, DB Tylen Hockett. 
    • What to Watch: Lake Ridge will try to control the tempo with the ground game, but can their defense slow down the Falcons’ aerial attack? 

     

    North Crowley (3-0) vs. Rockwall (2-1)

    • The Storyline: North Crowley is coming off a win over Denton Guyer, while Rockwall is looking to rebound from a tough loss to Lewisville. This is a statement opportunity for both. 
    • North Crowley: 
      • Loaded with depth and speed on both sides of the ball. 
      • Offensive standouts: QB DeMarcus Harris II, RBs Kiante Ingram & Gyrell Smith, WR Damarion Mays, WR Hayden Green, TEs Jayden Shaw & Jeramie Cooper. 
      • Defensive leaders: LB Amaj Mitchell, DBs Braylen Cunningham, Aaron Bradshaw, Jerry Outhouse Jr., Thomas Cook Jr. 
      • OL John Turntine helps set the physical tone. 
    • Rockwall: 
      • Offense capable of scoring on anyone. 
      • Leaders: QB Brent Rickert, WR Jack Duckworth, TE/DE Jackson Stoner, DB Will Ashworth. 
    • What to Watch: Can Rockwall’s offense solve the Panthers’ defense, or will North Crowley solidify itself as one of the region’s top contenders? 

     

     The Final Word

    Week 4 brings some of the most intriguing early-season matchups in the Metroplex. Carroll–Trinity has the feel of a district championship preview, Duncanville–Waxahachie is a chance for a rising program to make a statement, North Forney–Lake Ridge could turn into an offensive showcase, and North Crowley–Rockwall is all about proving legitimacy against elite competition. With district play now underway, every game carries playoff implications and this week’s slate should deliver plenty of drama.
