Midlothian Heritage came into their district matchup against Mansfield Summit undefeated and looking to separate themselves from the competition. One of the best players on the field was Class of 2024 athlete Stetson Sarratt. He had a phenomenal game, Sarratt was a factor on both sides of the football, hauling 6 passes for 79 yards and 3 touchdowns offensively, as well as a pick 6 on defense. The mission and goal of The Platform is to #ExposeTheUnexposed and provide adequate coverage of athletes around the country giving them exposure. Let’s dive into what makes Sarratt a player that college programs should have their eye on.
Stetson Sarratt is a versatile player who made his presence felt on both offense and defense. As a wide receiver, he exhibited excellent route-running skills, sharp breaks, and the speed to stretch the field vertically. Sarratt also showcased great short-area quickness, allowing him to make quick cuts and create separation. His reliable hands and ability to track the ball in the air made him a favorite target for his quarterback. Furthermore, his athleticism was on full display during a memorable touchdown run where he hurdled a defender in the end zone. On the defensive side, Sarratt played cornerback effectively, using his press coverage skills, superb instincts, disciplined eye for the ball, and even securing a key interception for a pick-six. With offers from Texas A&M Commerce and interest from Boise State, he’s a player to watch for in the future.
