There’s no doubt that nobody has done it like DR7 when putting together a structured tournament and now combining the scouting expertise of The Platform has the organization unmatched. The DR7 national circuit allows scouts and coaches to get eyes on various kids early on from different areas. The mission and goal of The Platform is to #ExposeTheUnexposed and provide adequate coverage of athletes participating in DR7 tournaments and around the country. Let’s breakdown a few standouts from this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia.
Brandon Marinho | TE | 2027 | Spanish Fort | @brandonmarinho1
Marinho was a huge threat on the outside this weekend playing with GCA 15U where he displayed his head top catching abilities in the 7v7 arena. He was one of the better wideouts who had a solid weekend performance. Marinho dominated smaller defensive backs because of his strong hands and reliable catch radius. Keep on eye on his overall progression as he’s just a 2027 prospect with plenty of time for growth.
Zsewaun Smith | ATH | 2025 | Cedar Grove | @d1zooskit1
Fresh off a productive junior season that ended with state championship hardware, Zsewaun Smith is dominating the 7v7 offseason circuit because of his versatile ability to impact both sides of the ball. He’s a beast on the defensive side with a stout 5-11, 200-pound frame that he uses to jet across the field as a playmaker. Smith has a big-time senior season ahead where he can lock in some real deal college interest. He’s one to watch heading into the spring.
Joel Bradford | ATH | 2027 | Grayson | @JB7theAthlete
One of the more electric wide receivers standouts this weekend was 2027 Joel Bradford. This kid nearly has a three-minute highlight video worth of plays he made. The 5-10, 180-pound freshman riser displayed smooth route running where he beat most defenders at the line with his footwork and set ups. It was the speed and ability to make plays after the catch that locked him in as a big-time playmaker. He holds a verbal offer from Auburn but expect his recruitment to take off with more in-game film/performances.
Jamichael Garrett | ATH | 2026 | Gulf Shores | @jamichael97
A premier 2026 national recruit, Jamichael Garrett competed this weekend with GCA 7v7 where he was a menace at the defensive back position but also showed off his skills to make plays on the offensive side. It’s enjoyable to evaluate top talent from other states and this kid was for sure the Real Deal. Garrett holds major SEC Power 4 offers with plenty of time to pile more on. Watch out for his recruitment to skyrocket.
Joshua Echols | LB | 2027 | Buford | @JoshEchols4
As a linebacker prospect in the 7v7 setting, you have to be fluid with your movement and good with your eyes. Echols displayed those traits well this weekend all while looking like a state champion weight lifter as a 2027 prospect. This kid was one of the bigger framed prospects we’ve had on the circuit who will have the chance this spring to show off the work he’s put in. Echols is a true beast with support that understands what it takes to get to the next level. A smart kid with plenty of time to work on his technique to combine it with his growing frame. He’s also at one of the better high school football programs in Buford so the sky’s the limit.
Jalen Williams | DB | 2026 | Kell | @Jman8x
Williams put together a highlight video worth of notable plays he made this weekend competing with Hunch Elite 7v7. He finished as one of the top defensive back prospects hands down. Just check the film, the 2026 DB made various plays on the ball with high IQ reads. Williams is a solid-framed athletic riser that college coaches need to get eyes on.
