The mission and goal of The Platform is to #ExposeTheUnexposed and provide adequate coverage of athletes around the country giving them exposure. We will spotlight several next up prospects who had standout performances during the morning portion of pool play on Saturday.
Kvonte Kidd-Ellis | Class of 2029 | Athlete | Kipp-Liberation (Hou., Tx) | 7v7: SOS Strikers | IG: @13k_luhvonte
Kvonte has a long, lean frame and was on the players in this age group who passed the eye test. Hard to believe that this kid is only in the 7th grade. He was the primary target offensively for SOS. He plays above the rim and he has the athleticism to go up and get balls on the top shelf. Kidd-Ellis has an extended wingspan that helped him defensively to create pass break ups. He played with great excitement and energy all day today as the SOS Strikers went 3-0 in Pool Play. He will be counted on heavily for his team to be successful on Crown Sunday.
Chad Cathey | Class of 2029 | Quarterback | Adam’s Jr. High (Hou., Tx) | 7v7: Westside Elite | @coolc713
Cathey had great poise at the quarterback position, properly dropping back to go through all his progressions before making the right decision on where to throw. He played with confidence, the chemistry between him and his receivers paid, allowing him complete passes in tight coverage. He was very confident in his arm leading the ball to his receivers and he wasn’t afraid to let the deep ball fly. Look for him to be a key factor heading into Crown Sunday.
Bishop Stidham | Class of 2031 | Athlete | Clark Intermediate (Hou., Tx) | 7v7: FAST SPORT PERFORMANCE | IG: @bishopstidham2031
Bishop is a three sport athlete who plays football, baseball and basketball. He is a swift route runner with great technique. Bishop has the quickness and agility to get open consistently and his reliable hands enabled him to secure completions. He played both sides of the ball, defensively at safety, he forced several crucial pass breakups to help his team get two wins. When talking with Stidham post game, he was very poised and humble. Look for him to be a factor for Fast Sport on Sunday.
Kody Adams | Class of 2030 | Athlete | Cypress Grove Intermediate (HOU., TX) | 7v7: FREE WORLD ELITE | IG: @cntholdd.kodie
Adams was one of the most competitive players in the 12u division during pool play on Saturday. He is shifty route runner that has the skill set to create separation early off the line in tight coverage. He has superb quickness, combined with good speed, which lead to several big to gains and he excels at yards after the catch. Adams came up big in crunch time defensively as he hauled in the game winning interception. Look out for this versatile athlete heading into Sunday to continue to be a big play threat.
